Ore-tachi no naishou
Kurama smiled as he looked over at the smaller demon he had just put to bed. He had found Hiei earlier that day, beaten and worn out from using his Kokuryuuha against a gang of thieves from Makai, attacking him. Kurama still didn't know what possessed the thieves to attack Hiei so violently.
Kurama sighed softly and reached over to gently set aside the unruly black hair out of his frien's face, something he'd never even dream of doing if Hiei were awake. Despite his deep longing to hold his Demon partner, he had to keep a cool head, he didn't want to scare Hiei away from him forever.
Hiei had a hard life before joining the Reikai Tantei. He was shunned from the Koorime and raised by evil thieves. Hiei lived most of his life alone, with no one around to take care of him, therefore building a shield around his heart to hide his emotions. Kurama had only seen that shield be raised when Hiei was around his twin sister, Yukina. He knew Hiei cared deeply for his sister, even though he didn't allow himself to tell her who her brother really is.
Kurama knew that if Hiei found out his true feelings, that it would jeopardise their growing friendship. Kurama's fingers traced the outline of Hiei's delicate features softly, as to not awaken the smaller Demon. Kurama kneeled closer to Hiei, whispering is a hoarse tone.
"Oh Hiei... If I could only let you know how much you mean to me, without the risk of losing you..." Kurama choked on his words in a faint sob. Tears swelled in Kurama's large green eyes, then made a warm stream down his cheeks, and onto the pillow Hiei's head rested on.
After a moment to regain composure, Kurama continued his unheard confession, "There isn't a thing I wouldn't give or do if you asked me. I've never felt this way about anyone before. At first I thought it was just a physical attraction," Kurama let his hands move down and across the Youkai's bandaged arms, "You are.. very attractive.." Kurama teased and chuckled to himself, "Hmm, the things you'd do if you knew what I was doing right now, I'd expect to be torched at the very least."
"But there's more to it than that. Perhaps it was a challenge and being a Youko, I never turn down a challenge. A gruff, and emotionless forbidden child, certainly an enigma to get into bed. Hell, that's not it either, I've known you for too long to believe that's true. If that was it, I'd have let go of bedding you a long time ago. i don't just want to sleep with you, I want to call you mine, have you all to myself, and let you call me your's. I want to spend my life at your side."
"I feel infatuated by you, I obsess over you. I think of you every day and every night. I take cold showers at night before I can even get to sleep most of the time," Kurama spoke in soft embarrassment, letting his hand's move back to the Fire Demon's face, "I don't think I can live without you near me, Hiei. You are my best friend, though I hope someday you'll be more. I also hope someday I can tell you these things to your face."
Kurama leaned over and brushed his lips lightly across Hiei's cheek, craving to kiss his lips instead, but holding back in the fear of waking the Youkai, "Hiei, i really do hope to be more than your friend. Do you want to know a secret, Youkai?" Kurama leaned nearer Hiei's ears, "I love you, Hiei."
Kurama stood up, wiping fresh tears from his eyes as he lazily made a place to sleep on the floor, near the be Hiei occupied. It didn't take long for the fox to cry himself to sleep.
Hiei opened his eyes, in fact he hadn't been sleeping at all, just reasting to regain his strength. He didn't think of interupting his friend's speech. Kurama's words baffled him, as they played repeatedly though his mind, "I love you, Hiei." How could anyone feel this way for a forbidden child? After Hiei made sure Kurama was sleeping, by checking the Youki in the room, he stood up and walked to the sleeping fox, noticing his face was still red with tears shed for him. He kneeled near Kurama, studying his face. He reached over and pushed some stray strands of red hair behind Kurama's neck.
"Kurama.." he said softly, debating to himself whether to speak out or not. After watching Kurama sleep for a while, he continued in a low whisper, "I've felt the same for you since we met. for some reason, even as we fought after I mistook you for an enemy, I knew you wouldn't harm me, I trusted you from the beginning, fox."
Hiei smirked at his own sappiness, and sighed as he watched Kurama's body rise and fall with slow respiration, "Do you want to hear my secret, kitsune?" he leaned his head lower, tracing his lops along Kurama's ear. "I love you too, Kurama," with a black flicker, he left the room via the opened window.
Kurama gasped and sat quickly, sensing the sudden rush of Youki, and looked over onto his bed, "Hiei..."
